Explanation!

Hello Hello!

Before I continue on with my travel series, I want to explain my sudden disappearance from all my social media platforms including my website, and why I haven’t really been posting any photos or blogs for the past month.

As many of you know about a year and a half ago I made the tough decision of taking a leave of absence from college. This was a huge decision for me at the time. Fast forward a year or so later, I decided that I wanted to return to school but not to my former college. I wanted to shift majors from Entrepreneurship to Photography. I know they’re two very different majors, but truth be told I’m happier with what I’m taking right now. I’ve always enjoyed photography ever since I was in high school.

Anyway, a few months ago (around March 2017), I realized that I wanted to go back to school. I actually missed studying and honestly I wanted to be able to say that I’m a college graduate (a big deal in the Philippines). So I started looking for schools that I could attend after having taken two years of college. It was hard to look for one that I could transfer to that would hopefully credit the subjects that I have taken. I don’t want to feel like I threw two years away. Lucky enough I found the De La Salle-College of St. Benilde or simply CSB, which had the course I wanted and a well-known arts program. Thus began the grueling process of applying again to a college. By this time I have been out of high school for almost four years so I completely forgot what it felt like.

A couple of months before I left for the United States, I had started the application process to CSB. The school is about an hour drive away (with traffic) from where I live (Just about 30-40mins away without traffic). The application was fast and easy. Plus,  just days before I left for the United States, I had to take the entrance exam. The grueling process of waiting begun right after.

I was in the U.S. when I got the news that I got accepted into the college. Honestly I was relieved.  I thought I had completely butchered the exam and that I wouldn’t be able to get into the school.

A little background information on CSB before I continue on.

CSB is a Catholic institution in the Philippines that is located along Taft Ave. in the city of Manila. It is one of sixteen La Salle schools located in the Philippines. CSB started out as a department in De La Salle University Manila that offered a night program for working students. It then ventured into offering institutional courses for students who wanted to take non-traditional courses. Today, College of St. Benilde has three buildings located near Taft Ave; the main building which is the first building of CSB, the School of Design and the Arts, and the Angelo King International Center also known as Hotel Benilde. CSB also offers courses to deaf students and to students with special needs.

Back to the story…

When I got back from the United States I had to submit more papers to CSB to complete my school application. This took up majority of my time and I had to pause from writing my blog and editing pictures. By the time I got back I had a month to complete everything before classes started. Honestly that month flew by fast. I had so much to do.

By the time I was able to sit down and finally relax and focus on my blog ,I realized I was only days away from starting school again. When it dawned on me that I was only days away from my first day I was terrified. The first day of school was never something I looked forward to. So I needed to take some time of from everything and focus on myself – especially since I was about to start on something new again after a whole year of trying to discover myself. This time I didn’t want to mess up.

The next few days flew by and the next thing I knew I was waking up at 5am and getting ready for the first day of school.

Fast forward a couple of months later…

School has been hectic but enjoyable. I am still getting used to waking up early everyday and having to travel about an hour and thirty minutes everyday to get to school. But for the most part it’s been great. A bit different ’cause I haven’t been to a huge school since grade school so adjusting to not knowing everyone is a little weird but fun.  I am slowly adjusting to it all and sooner or later I will be back to my regular schedule especially when it comes to my blog.

So, thank you everyone for your patience towards me these past few months while I am still adjusting to it all. I promise that once I find a suitable schedule for me I will get back to posting regularly.

As of now I hope you enjoyed this blog! More USA trip blogs will be up soon.

Hope you all are having a good week!

xoxo

Julia
